Without further ado, here are a few more gutter FAQs:

  • What are the most common types of gutters? All gutters are either sectional or seamless, and they come in various materials, sizes, and colors. Read our blog post on the many different styles of gutters. There are many types of rain gutters, but k-style and half-round gutters are the most popular.
  • Do gutters come in various shapes and sizes? Yes! Most gutters come in several shapes and sizes called profiles. These include k-shape and u-shape (half-round) configurations. Gutters should be made to fit your home perfectly.
  • Why should I replace my gutters if there’s nothing wrong with them? Wouldn’t it be easier (and cheaper) to cover them up so they don’t clog? Gutters were designed to be cleaned on a regular basis. Even the best gutter covers can compromise your roof, which can end up being a costly expense in the long run. Sure, gutter covers can allow longer periods in between when you need to clean your gutters, but they usually have to be uninstalled to give access to the trough anyway. Your best bet is to choose a gutter system that requires low maintenance if you’re worried about not having the time to clean them regularly (or better yet: hire a professional to clean them for you!).
  • Can I install gutters on my own? Sure! If you are comfortable on a ladder and you’re accustomed to doing-it-yourself, you may be able to install your own sectional gutters. But for seamless gutters, make sure to hire a professional to install those.
